Hi all, it’s quite late (nearly 11.00pm) as I’m writing this, so please excuse any spelling mistakes or sentences that don’t make any sense! If I don’t do it now, then other things will take over tomorrow and it will be another day gone and I want to update you on a few things and share some good stuff with you too! So, make sure you’re sitting comfortably and read on…
Return to School Plan
I shared earlier today our return to school plan with parents in Years 6, 1 and Reception. A lot of work has gone into thinking, planning and organising our school in anticipation of opening to more children from 1st June. There has been a lot of Government guidance (normally released either on a Friday or very late in the evening) and this has contradicted itself, or changed, over time. We have produced a plan, alongside a full risk-assessment, based on our school, our situation and our community. We feel that it gives us the opportunity to increase the number of children in school but in a measured, safe way. Whilst we can never guarantee that anyone in school won’t catch any virus or illness, we feel the measures and protocols we have put in place will minimise the risk as much as possible.
You can see the plan and risk assessment on the new Covid-19 Information for Parents page. If you click on the Letters link it will take you to all the relevant documentation. There is also a FAQ section on this page which we will update with answers to questions you are asking.
Pictures and Video
Also on the same page, there are some pictures of a couple of classrooms, and what they will look like for returning children. There is a special video for Reception children – current children and the new intake in September (this link will take you straight there).
Half Term
School will be closed to all children over half term. We will not be uploading any work over the half-term break – have a rest! The first day back after half term, June 1st, will only be open to Key Workers’ children. We will be having training for staff around new procedures and protocols for wider opening, so there will be no uploaded work for that day either. Home learning work will continue from Tuesday 2nd June. The work being uploaded for you to complete with your child(ren) will be the same work that will be being used in school for those children in the year groups that return.
Thank You
Thank you to all those of you that sent something into school for teachers on ‘Thank a Teacher Day’ yesterday. It was very thoughtful of you and very much appreciated by all staff.
Wellbeing Resources
Whilst we are locked down it can be a time of heightened anxieties for everyone, including children. Here are some links to some resources for wellbeing that will help:

And Last But Definitely Not Least…
We have a YouTube star in school! Evie has been watching Let’s Go Live on YouTube…and found herself featured on one of the shows! You can see Evie on the clip below with her Deep Sea Adventure Kit. Well done Evie!
That’s all for now.
Take Care and Stay Safe
