Well, that wasn’t the end to the week that we wanted or even expected. The whole situation moved very quickly, but it was a little frustrating that we had no direction from Public Health England until well after the end of the school day. I guess they were busy. Anyhow, here are a few updates and notices and answers to a couple of questions that have come in since the announcement.
School Kitchen and Lunches
The school kitchen will be closed completely for the next two weeks, until at least 19th November. We will update you closer to the time an exact date when it will reopen. We will be asking, therefore, that each child comes with their packed lunch every day. If you are in receipt of benefit-based free school meals, we will be contacting you individually with our plans.
Children Who Are Self-Isolating Because of Class Closure
If your child is self-isolating, we will be providing home learning as we did previously in lockdown. There will be daily lessons uploaded to the class pages. The link is here, or they can be found from Home Page > Children > Class Pages > Year Group link. PLEASE DON’T USE THE HOME LEARNING LINK AS THIS WILL NOT BE THE CORRECT WORK FOR YOUR CHILD.
There will be a mixture of videos, reading and worksheet work following what the children would have been learning if they were in school; please try and keep up with these if you can – I know it is difficult. We will also provide access to the assemblies that we have been doing in school, including our Remembrance Assembly on Wednesday. If you have any difficulties in accessing the home learning, please contact the school office and we will help out.
When using Oxford reading online, please choose 2 books each week that your child hasn’t read from the stage they are working on. Can you record these books in their reading record please. Thank you.
There will also be the opportunity for all children to have a class TEAMS meeting with their class teacher – we will let you know when those will happen.
Contacting School
Please use the usual phone number to contact school office, or the hscontact email; please use this one as it is monitored more regularly.
Please Take Care and Stay Safe
