The sun is shining! ☀️ How much better do we feel when the sun is out? It’s been great being out on the playground today – lots of children with no coats on! Spring is on its way…
PTA
A big ‘thank you’ to our PTA who, through their money-raising efforts of the past year, have been able to help us fund new phonics books for KS1 and lots of new class library books throughout KS2. This is something they are raising money for over the next few months too – we are talking thousands of pounds worth of new books. The Easter Fayre on 2nd April will also go towards this – if you haven’t bought your ticket yet please see a member of the PTA on the playground at the end of the school day.
Mrs Newbold
Mrs Newbold finishes today to start her maternity leave. We wish her all the very best and hope to be able to share the good news very soon!
Fund Raising for ukraine
Many children have asked if we can do something to raise funds for refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine. We are meeting with school council early next week and we will share with you soon the ideas they have and what we will be doing as a school to help.
In the meantime, Thomas in Year 2 has taken it upon himself to do some fund raising of his own. He is doing ’40 Days of Plank’! Here he is with a few others in forest school.

Absence Requests
Please remember that we are unable to authorise absence for holidays in term time. Also, all requests for absence must be into school at least 15 days before the requested date, unless it’s an exceptional circumstance. Thank you.
Safeguarding Survey
Thank you to everyone who responded to the online safeguarding survey. We will be sharing with you the priorities you identified and update you on all of those over the next few weeks.
Science Day
We’ve had great fun with Science this week. We’ve been involved in online lessons; self-inflating balloons; flying rocket mice; exploding lemons; exploding hands; and investigating colour. Ask your child to tell you more!
Summer term finishing date
School finishes for the summer term on Thursday 21st July. Initially, this was the day after on the Friday but it has been brought forward a day to accommodate the extra bank holiday which occurs in a school holiday already.
