Welcome back – I hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing, fun-filled half term break. We are on the ‘last push’ towards the end of the school year – how quickly has that gone?! As usual, lots of things happen in the final half term and there are some dates below to things going on in school. It’s going to be a hot weekend – please keep yourselves safe and don’t get burnt!

Name School Uniform

Please can you ensure that all school uniform is named. We have an increasingly-large unclaimed uniform pile which we can’t return to children as all the items are unnamed. Thank you.

Dance

Earlier this week, Miss Cartwright took the dance club to the Black Country Dance festival in Walsall. Have a look at their wonderful performance below!

Sports Day

This year’s sports day will be held on Monday 17th July and we are pleased to invite parents & family members to attend the event that will be held on the school field. KS2 will be in the morning, with a 9:30am start, and Recaeption and KS1 will be in the afternoon, with a 2:00pm start.

Please could children come to school in their P.E kits with trainers (or pumps) and wear their house-colour t-shirt on that day:

Malvern – Yellow
Clent – Green
Wychbury – Red
Walton – Blue

It is difficult to predict the weather, but if it looks like it will be a hot day, please make sure children come to school with plenty of high-protection sun cream on, a water bottle and a hat.

Primary Books

Primary Books (book fayre) are visiting school again next week. Your child has been sent home with an envelope this week – if you would like your child to buy a book at the book fayre please make sure they come with some money in the envelope Monday/Tuesday. Monday Year 1 and Year 4 will visit the book fayre; everyone else will visit on Tuesday. Thank you.

PTA Announcements

Dear all,

Our Summer Fayre is fast approaching, we are beginning to pay non-refundable deposits for items for the event, if you haven’t yet signed up to help, please do, even if it’s for 30 minutes covering a stall, which is where we still need help. For those already signed up, a big thank you, without your support this event wouldn’t be going ahead!

Dates for diary:

  • Mufti Day for bottle Tombola donation: Thursday 22nd June
  • Mufti Day for Surprise Treat bags:  Friday 30th June
  • Main event: Summer Fayre Saturday 1st July 12-3.00 p.m.

Similar to our Christmas Mugs stall, we are asking for children to fill a colourful paper bag with handles with sweets, toys, colouring items, stickers etc. If children would like to decorate the bag, that’s entirely optional. Colourful Paper bags will be on sale from 12thJune for 50p during school collection.

We will be running a refreshment stall on the day, we are hoping any keen bakers would be happy to donate some baked goods to sell on the day, or shop brought goods are just as welcome. Please can donations be dropped to the school office by Friday 30th June.

This year we are running a Teddy Tombola stall, if you have any teddies in great sellable condition, please drop to the school office before Friday 23rd June.

Frozen Fridays:

Our Frozen Fridays will continue again this Friday at school pick up. All Ice lollies are £1.00. For children at After school club, please send their money in a named purse or envelope, they will have the opportunity to come and choose an ice lolly. Unfortunately, After School staff are unable to sell lollies as parents collect their children.

Playground Tidy Up:

We hope you have noticed the improvements in the playground, it’s lovely to see the new chalk board in use. We still need to finish painting the Pre-school fence and Reception outdoor area. Some more dates will be coming out, if you can spare an hour, your help will be much appreciated.

Our next meeting is Tuesday 13th June, 7.30 p.m. via TEAMS

Thank you for your continued support, without your help we couldn’t run our events, raise much needed money and improve the environment for the children.

Best wishes
