It’s that busy run-up to Christmas, with everything that entails in school. We had a great Christmas Fayre last week, and we’ve had our first Nativity, done by Reception. They were amazing and anyone who saw it would undoubtedly agree. You will have had a ParentMail about all the events happening at school in the run-up to Christmas – if you haven’t received one please contact the school office.
Dangerous Gifts
It’s that time of year where gifts and presents are being bought by everyone. Have a read below of the dangers of some gifts this year.
Sweets for Birthdays
A reminder that we do not allow sweets/chocolates/treats to be brought into school to be given out for birthdays. We allow children to come to school in their own clothes instead. This includes giving our things at the end of the school day. With us now also having children in school with allergies we would ask that you adhere to this and not bring anything into school for your child to give out. Thank you.
Hedgehog Assembly
We had an assembly last week from the Hedgehog Conservation Trust who gave us lots of information about how to look after hedgehogs and all the work they do.

CAMHS Parent/Carer Workshops
Black Country CAMHS services are running online workshops for any parents who are interested. You can find out more details here (some of the sessions have already gone).
Foodbank Visit
Some of our Year 6 children went last week to visit the FoodBank to see how it all was organised and what happens to the food we send. You can see some pictures below.
Forest School & Acorns Hospice
It’s been a busy few weeks in forest school, with Year 5 enjoying the snow! So many snowmen, ice chiseling, smores and of course a snowball fight!
Year 5 ended their sessions this week and we really have had so much fun. This class love to perform and I was treated to a special song by all them, especially for me! Just wonderful and yep I was in tears! Thank you so much children.
The Woodland Warriors , the Thursday forest school group took their wooden tree to St Peter’s Church yesterday in readiness for the Christmas Tree Festival this weekend. Their tree celebrates our individual star qualities. Do go along and add your star to the tree!
Children Charity Champions.
Thank you to everyone who came to see us at the Christmas Fayre on Friday, taking donations for the second hand toys and teddies the children had donated. We raised £206 for Acorns Hospice.
Mrs Dowen and I took some of the school council to the Black Country Foodbank for a tour, so they could gain greater insight into the work that they do and how they support families. The children will be looking to see how they can further support their work in the New Year.
Acorns Hospice
Many thanks to those who donated at Reception’s nativity last week, we raised £106.35.
In total we have now raised £570.57 which today I have donated to the hospice as they are currently part of The Big Give campaign whereby all donations this week are doubled so our fundraising will total £1141.14 which is just brilliant.
I am so grateful for all your support. The children have been amazing in their energy, enthusiasm and ideas on how to fundraise. We are continuing to support Acorns until Easter so look out for the next exciting events the children have planned.
