It’s a busy newsletter this week. I hope you’re all well and enjoying the upturn in the weather. It’s due to continue next week too. Hopefully it stays around for the Easter holiday. See you next week.
Uniform
Thank you to everyone who labels their child’s uniform – it really makes things much easier when we try to match uniform to children. If you haven’t labelled uniform yet – please do!
Also, as the weather is due to be warm next week, you can send you child in summer uniform if you like. Summer uniform is normally in place from after Easter.
Reflexions
Reflexions provide preventative and early intervention mental health support within Education Settings for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. We have been working with them, with a number of families, for a while. Here are some links to some workshops they are running over the coming weeks:
Parent Webinar – “Recognising and Understanding Anxiety in Children and Young People.”
Workshops – “Spring into Wellness.”
Workshops – “Spring Your Worries Away.”
Elements Trust Newsletter
If you missed the Spring Elements Trust Newsletter, you can read a copy of it here.
Make Up
Can I remind parents that children are not allowed to wear make-up to school. This is mostly aimed at girls in Years 5 & 6 but there have been instances of children in younger age groups wearing make-up to school too. Can I also remind you that nail varnish is also not allowed to be worn by children. Thank you.

Acorns Hospice
As you are aware, we have been supporting Acorns Hospice as our charity this year. Our last little bit of fundraising will happen next Friday, the last day of term. Children can come to school in their own clothes, with a focus on wearing something bright! There will be buckets on the gate in the morning if you would like to make a small donation. Thank you.
Easter Football Academy
Details of an Easter football academy, at Stourbridge rugby club, can be found here.
Forest School
It’s been a busy few weeks in the woods.
Year 2 finished their sessions in the woods with lots of muddy fun.
I aim to provide sessions where children have the opportunity to be free, play and learn in their way whilst hopefully deepening their connection to nature. We learn to take notice of its beauty, respect and look after the space and appreciate what it gives to us.
At the end of our sessions we enjoy reflecting on everything that we have done, and feedback to each other what we have noticed. So many say how they have noticed kindness in each other and how they have played with other.
Reception also enjoyed another session too and loved making fruit kebabs.
And Year 3 have started their block with my colleague Fiona! They are definitely a class that loves mud!
We also enjoy forest church each week with a different class coming for their worship in the woods.
Cross Country Club
We are extremely proud of our cross country team. Last week they took part in an inter school competition with 39 schools competing. We are extremely proud to say that overall we came 3rd with our girls team coming 2nd and boys team 9th.
Their training and commitment really paid off and watching them run a tough 2.2km course was a very proud moment. They showed huge resilience and perseverance to keep going. For me I was extra proud as my daughter has been coaching the children who started her passion for running started at Pedmore.
Children Charity Champions
As we come to the end of term, we will be finishing our fundraising for Acorns Children’s Hospice with a mufti day on Friday.
It’s been amazing to see the impact this fundraising has had on the children and I am extremely grateful to you for your support too.
At the beginning of next term, Acorns are coming into school to receive the cheque for the final amount which I think will be a real celebration for us all.
