What a long half term this has been! Lots of children tired this week; I think we forget sometimes how much is expected of them at school and how tired they become. I hope you all have a lovely, restful break and we’ll see you all again after half term. Remember we have an INSET day on Monday 4th, so won’t be open to children until Tuesday 5th November.

Art Week
We’ve had an art week in school this week. Each class has investigated different art forms and then had a go at producing their own. You can see some examples of what they have been doing below. Have a chat with your child to find out what they’ve been up to!
Our Councils Representatives
We have 3 councils in school, led by Year 6 and with representatives from each class. You can see who they are below.
Leaf Flowers!
Some of the Year 5 girls made a leaf bouquet today…very impressive it was too!
Bonfire Night
If you are going to a bonfire or firework display, or hosting your own, please take care and follow all the safety guidelines. Should you wish to review those, you can find advice and information here. Stay safe!
Forest School
It’s been another fun packed week in Forest school and we have been blessed with some beautiful autumnal sunshine.
Year 5 started their sessions and as I have taught most of these children since they were 3, they are really competent Forest schoolers.
I love the community that happens in forest school, with children taking responsibility. They lit the fire, made hot chocolate and we enjoyed pop around the fire.
We also had our first forest school has talent for the season, all organised by themselves and it was great fun! The team work, organisational skills and compromise they showed was great to stand back and observe. Giving children opportunity to find their way I hope will help them later in life and build those all important skills.
Reception joined me yesterday and it’s great to see their excitement as they start their Forest school journey. The leaves created great fun and one of my brilliant volunteers engaged them in a great imaginative game. There was so much laughter.
Half Term.
My event over half term is now sold out but if you want some half term fun, I shall be at Stanley’s Farm and Shop – Harvington on Saturday for potion making and some natural crafts. No booking required just turn up and £6 to join in the fun! https://stanleysfarmshop.co.uk
I hope you all have a great half term and can get outside enjoying everything our wonderful natural world has to offer.

Safeguarding
As well as our section on the school website, we have some guides for parents available here. These 1-page guides cover things like Roblox, Being Kind Online, Online Safety Tips, Parental Settings Guide and more. Well worth a read, as a first-time or as a reminder.
