We are moving at pace towards the Christmas break, with lots of things happening over the next couple of weeks. Some dates below to remind you of what’s happening, and lots of information to share!

Each week from now on we will have two new sections – a bible quote of the week, which hopefully will help to inspire you, or make you think, for the forthcoming week, and a ‘Thunk’ of the week. A Thunk is a question which makes you think and can be a great starter for a chat at the dining table!

Have a great weekend.

With God, all things are possible.

Matthew 19:26

Each week we will be sharing the weekly attendance figures for school. We should be aiming for 97% or above attendance overall. Each class breakdown is below:

Reception – 91.64%

Year 1 – 99%

Year 2 – 92.33%

Year 3 – 97.27%

Year 4 – 96.06%

Year 5 – 84.18%

Year 6 – 96.97%

Whole school – 94.05%

Reindeer Run

A reminder of this ParentMail that was sent out earlier this week:

This Monday coming (28th November) we will be taking part, as a school, in Mary Stevens Hospice Reindeer run, where children will do some running activities during their PE time. We will be doing this to raise some money for Mary Stevens Hospice.

Mr Hart, who is a teaching student who has been with us since September, has organised this due to personal family connections with Mary Stevens Hospice. Last November, Mr Hart’s stepmum was admitted to the hospice for end of life care. They have given continued support for Mr Hart and his family since her passing.

We fully appreciate it’s an expensive time of the year at the moment, so we are not doing this as a sponsored event. We will have a bucket on the gate on Monday morning and evening should anyone wish to donate. However small an amount, even if just a few pennies, will be gratefully received.

Thank you once again for your support.

If the hands fall off my clock, is it still a clock?

Christmas Tree Festival at St Peter’s

Dear Parents/Carers,

St Peter’s Church is holding a Christmas Tree Festival in church between 2nd and 4th December which is a display of different trees that local groups have created.

I thought it would be lovely if we had a tree which combined my business and school so I have been working with the children to create decorations for our tree.

Our tree will be called the Gratitude Tree and today children have decorated wood cookies with what they are grateful for.  It has been wonderful to talk to the children about what they are thankful for.  Today at lunchtime children were able to decorate a wood cookie with their gratitude which will be hung on our tree. They are truly beautiful and not only are they very creative they are also very appreciative of what they have.

Next week the worship council will accompany me and Mrs Dowen to church to decorate the tree.

Attached is the flyer regarding the details about the festival, so please pop along and see all the trees.  Plus you will have the opportunity to add your gratitude to our tree.

Hope to see some of you there.

Kind regards

Ruth Hill
