It’s nearly Christmas! After a very long Autumn term today is the last school day of 2025. It’s been a challenging term in many ways, but also a great one with lots of things to celebrate. See you in the New Year!
“But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
Luke 2 10:11

Christmas Events
I was lovely to see so many of you supporting all the Christmas events we’ve held. From Reception through to Year 6, every class has been involved in a Christmas event…singing, nativities, carol services…it’s been wonderful to hear so many beautiful singing voices over the past couple of weeks. All classes also took part in our Christingle services this week, after making their Christingle in class. We lit them all and had some quiet moments of reflection all together. It really was a beautiful time in the hall.

St Peter’s Nativity Trail
St Peter’s have a nativity trail that you can complete as a family. More details can be found here.
New Year Return
School will be closed for INSET on Monday 5 January and Tuesday 6 January. The first day back for children will be Wednesday 7 January.
Mary Stevens Hospice
Mary Stevens Hospice are involved in a number of events over the next couple of months. You can see what they are below:
Mary Stevens can recycle your Christmas tree. They offer a collection service. You can find out more details about that here.
One of their fundraising initiatives focuses on left over/unwanted Christmas gifts. Find out more information about that here.
This year’s pantomime at Stourbridge Town Hall is Jack and the Beanstalk. It runs in February half term – 11-18 February. If you are interested, click here for more details.
MakeUp
There has been an increase with some of the older girls wearing makeup (mostly mascara) in school. This is not something that we allow in school so please ensure your child doesn’t wear any at school. We will be asking children to wash it off if they do come to school wearing any makeup. Thank you.
Christmas Card
Every year, our Year 6 Ambassadors make a video Christmas card which is shared instead of paper ones. You can have a look at this year’s card here.
Forest School
Forest school has been full of festivities this week with our Christmas trail at the weekend, Christmas crafts and singing around the fire with pre-school and a special visitor in the woods for all of KS1.
The children came to the woods, visited the woodland nativity scene, made reindeer food, toasted marshmallows and visited Santa in his cosy tent grotto.
They were all very excited! Apparently the robins are Santa’s messengers so the children will be watching out for them so they can let Santa know they are being good!
It’s been another great year in the woods and I’m very grateful to be able to work with your amazing children. Thank you all so much for your support.
I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and Happy New Year.
Warm regards.
Ruth Hill
