What a busy week it has been! A normal busy week, and then the added SIAMS inspection. The report will come out after half term, but just to say she spoke to many children and was overwhelmed at how polite, articulate and happy they were. They were a credit to you all. Have a good weekend.

Forest Church
We’ve started forest church sessions once a week, for a different class each week. The sessions are run by Ruth Hill and last around 20 minutes. They are based on the value we are looking at in worship.
Our Value – Trust
We’ve been looking at the value of trust over the past few weeks, and shared many stories (ask your children about them, especially Stuck!). Some children have given their thoughts about their learning and reflections, recorded after worship. You can see some of their thoughts below. All their own words and thoughts:
“Trust can come from all places – new and old friends.”
“Trust is like a construction site. You are building up that site every day until it becomes a finished building or relationship.”
“Assemblies make me feel happy.”
“The Goliath story taught me to trust people that they will do what they say they’re going to do.”
“Trust is 2 trees – 2 people – roots connect to each other. They develop trust, hold each other up.”
Happy News
This week’s edition of Happy News can be found here.
Money Matters
This week, Year 5 and Year 1 had a visit from two ladies from Yorkshire Building Society. They came in to work with the children with some maths around money.
Maths
Year 1 would like to thank all parents who attended the Mastering Number workshop session this week. The children enjoyed working with their grown ups on a variety of number sense activities and we hope that we have shared some ways to support the children’s learning at home.
Photos and post it note feedback are attached.
New Lunchtime Menu
The new lunchtime menu, to begin after half term, can be seen on the school website. The direct link is here.
INSET Day
A reminder that the first day back after half term, Monday November 4th, is a INSET day, so school will be closed to children.
Forest School
It’s been a busy few weeks in Forest school with Year 1 finishing their block of sessions this week.
They have had an amazing time exploring, playing and having lots of fun as well as showing some real resilience with lots of rain!
Yesterday we welcomed the SIAMS inspector to the woods and it was lovely to celebrate the importance of forest school at Pedmore.
Santa Jog
For the 3rd year I am organising a team for the Mary Stevens Hospice Santa Jog on Sunday 8th December. It would be great to see lots of families taking part. If you would like to be part of my team, please drop me a message on 07758599113 and il give you the details.
Have a lovely weekend
