Yesterday, April 1st
It’s Thursday already this week, although sometimes it doesn’t always go as quickly as we’d like! Thank you to all of you who had a go at our Competition – how many of you had more than one go? Come on now, don’t be shy…yes, it was an April Fools’ joke(!). Thanks for taking part! And for those of you desperate to know, Miss Troth’s favourite colour is…PINK! That’s my favourite colour too. All the best people love pink, obviously.
Work Over Easter
We’ve decided to carry on uploading lessons and activities over the Easter break, for most days. Yes, I know, you’ve probably got lots of other plans of things to do, but for those of you that may want to do some kind of school work, and I know most children LOVE doing work, there will be a choice: if you want to do anything, there will be things to do; if you don’t, well you don’t have to! There will be things uploaded for every day except weekends, as now, and the two holidays – Good Friday and Bank Holiday Monday. PLEASE don’t think you HAVE to do these activities – they are there if you want to continue with some kind of structured learning. And we’re more than happy to receive all your photos of what you’re up to!
Sometimes Things Get Difficult
And when they do, it can seem like a tough place to be. Children (and adults) can get anxious over the way things are at the moment, and it’s important that we try to do everything we can to minimise the negative impact it can have. Here are a few links of resources aimed at children regarding the current situation:

If we can help in any way, please contact us through the HSContact email – we will endeavour to do anything we can to help.
Easter Story Resources
I mentioned this previously, but it’s worth mentioning again. Obviously, if we were in school we would be spending a lot of time with children discussing and looking at the Easter Story, and its importance to Christians. This resource here provides the story and activities each day during Holy Week (starting Monday next week), and there are some lovely things to do. I recommend this – I will be doing this with my boys at home.

Pedmore Airwaves – School Radio
We had half a show ready to go; the Year 6 children had started getting everything together ready to record. That’s obviously not going to happen now! So, instead, we will record the first show/podcast and let you know when it’s ready. Please send in, through the HSContact email, any questions you’d like to ask; any shoutouts you’d like (birthdays for family or other occasions); in fact, anything you’d like to hear on the show! As many of you know, my prowess and skill as a DJ at school discos is second-to-none(!), so you can be sure of a great show (and if you believe that…). So, please send in any ideas you have and we’ll see what we can do. The first show will include an interview with a very important member of school staff (it’s a secret at the moment), so if you can think of some really original questions you’d like asking, that would be great!
Active Activities
Active Black Country will be posting daily activities each week – changed on a weekly basis. Let’s get exercising!
