So, here we are again…
If you’re anything like me, you will be feeling a tad frustrated, at the least, after the events of the past hour, but I guess it was obvious it was coming. I just wish I had been able to give you more notice, although you won’t be surprised to know that we weren’t told any earlier than you were. Whilst I can’t give you more notice, what I can do is try to reassure you of what we will be doing as a school.
We had spent a good chunk of today revisiting our plans for remote learning, in anticipation of such an announcement, and feel confident that we will be able to provide as much support, guidance and reassurance as possible in order that you and your family can continue to support learning whilst at home. We’ll be sending out more details tomorrow of what that will look like, and that remote learning will start from Wednesday of this week.
School will be open, as it was previous lockdown, to those children who fall into the vulnerable or key worker category. We will be contacting everyone tomorrow who we held on our previous list from the summer to see who will be requesting a school place. As we did previously, I urge anyone to only request a place for their child in school if they are a key worker, or feel their child is vulnerable in any way; it is imperative that we keep numbers in school to an absolute minimum. Class teachers will be planning and delivering lessons from home, so those children who come into school will follow the same planning as the rest of their class who are at home, and will be supervised by our Learning Support Assistants. More detail on how this will work will be sent out tomorrow.
I realise that the memories of home learning are still fresh in the mind of many of you, and I know that it was a difficult time for all of us. Please be assured that we will do everything we can to support you and your family over the coming weeks.
More tomorrow.
Take Care & Stay Safe
