It’s Autumn!

It’s colder, it’s wet and the leaves are beginning to turn…it can only mean one thing…Autumn is coming! How many of you have had your heating on at home yet? Normally we try to wait until October half term to put the heating on in school, but we’ve had it on this week as it’s been a little too chilly at times without it.

More to tell you about this week, so please read on so you know what’s going on in school. Have a great weekend.

Harvest in School

This year, as last, we will be celebrating harvest in school differently than we have in the past. Due to not having all the children together in the hall for assemblies and celebrations, we are celebrating harvest in the same way as we did last year. Each class will do a song or a poem and we will share them with other classes in school. As we have done for a few years now, we will also be collecting for the Black Country Foodbank. To keep things easier in school, and to make sure we are having as broad a range of donations as possible, we have assigned each class three items to collect each, based on what the BCF have identified as current shortages. If you would like to make a donation, they will be gratefully received. Thank you. Please see the list below, and feel free to bring as many of each item on your list as you like(!):

Parents’ Evenings

You should have received your ParentMail to book your virtual parents’ evening time. If you are having difficulty please contact the school office and they will help you out. Pedmore Thrive

This week’s issue of Pedmore Thrive can be found here.

Pedmore Ambassadors

Last week we held our Year 6 Pedmore Ambassador interviews. We had 22 children who applied for the role – wow! Mrs Bird and myself interviewed each one of them and I can honestly say they were incredible and committed in everything they said and the ideas that they had. So much so that it took us two days to finally be able to choose who they were! Our Ambassadors for this year are:

Gold Ambassadors

Thomas Fradgley and Gabrielle Nyikadzino

House Ambassadors:

Oliver Parker-Kinnaird; Sophie Cook; Amba Sanehi; Gabriella Masters; Erin Smith; Isaac Collins; Shane Sundaralingham; and Alice Virr.

PTA 100 Club

The PTA are running their 100 Club again this year. September’s winners can be seen at this link, on the PTA Facebook page and below.

A huge ‘Thank You’ from all of us for all of your generous donations to our school library. Our new librarians are very excited to be able to put all the new books onto all the shelves. Thank you again.
