End of the first week…
"Love one another, as I have loved you." John 13:34

Here we are…

…at the end of the first week of school closure. As I sit here, watching my two boys playing in the garden (and at the moment they’re not falling out!), I’m looking back at the week just gone and wondering how quickly we’ll all just be used to the situation as it is now. It’s certainly easier when the sun is shining – can’t say any of us will be looking forward to the week that has rain every day!

I know that it’s been a very different (and maybe, at times, difficult) week for all of our families too. Some of you will have relished the idea of being teacher for the week; others less-so! And that’s perfectly fine. It’s hard for children to concentrate and get used to ‘school being around the home dining table’. I’m sure they will though, if they haven’t already. I hope that the daily ‘lessons’ have helped and not been too demanding – if you have any questions please email us at the Home School Contact email address that was shared with you previously. Staff will be more than happy to answer any concerns you may have. Some of you have done that already – which is great as we want to be able to support you as much as possible and keep that dialogue going between home and school.

Challenges

Thank you to everyone who has sent us in pictures of work and challenges – it’s been great to see what everyone has been up to. Please keep them coming and we will endeavour to publish them online as soon as we can.

Please pass the word around about the updates to this blog on the website. I will be posting regularly; if not every day then certainly a few times each week. These posts will include all sorts of bits and pieces (and maybe the odd joke or two) – it would be wonderful if some of you could pop a response on the bottom of posts. Again, we just want to keep a dialogue open, however that might come about.

And finally

Last but not least, a big ‘thank you’. Thank you to all of our staff for everything they are doing at school, and to help you at home; thank you to all of you for your support and for embracing home schooling; and thank you to all our wonderful, creative, artistic, hard-working children for getting involved with everything as much as possible.

Have a great weekend – even if we can’t go anywhere!
