Here we are, nearly 8 weeks after starting the term, at the half-way point. It’s been a really good half term; at times stressful; at times overwhelming; many, many times fantastic. The children have adapted so well to the changes in school and settled down very quickly into new routines. Thank you for all your support with the changes we’ve introduced; I fully appreciate that not every change has suited everyone but, as I’ve said previously, every decision is made after much thought and with safety paramount.
I hope you all have a good half-term break and eat plenty of pumpkin pie!
Finding Latest News Items
All latest news posts can now be found under the News & Events tab on the website menu.
Uniform
Just a reminder that winter uniform is to be worn after half term. You can see a copy of the uniform policy here.
Fence
Hopefully the security fence on the field will be finished during the half term break. When finished, the whole of the field, including forest school, will be completely secure.
Parking
A reminder about parking considerately around school please. We have had residents in Parish Gardens ask if car owners can be considerate and not double-park. For the past two weeks this has meant that the bin-collection lorries have not been able to access the road.
Flu Vaccinations
Dudley Vaccination Team will be visiting school to give flu vaccinations to those children whose parents request them, on November 18th. More details, and a consent form, will be sent out after half term.
INSET
A reminder that school will be closed on Monday 2nd November for INSET. Children will be back at school on Tuesday.
Spare Clothes
A request! If anyone has any school uniform, or underwear including socks and tights, that their child has outgrown, please could you send them into school? Especially if Reception or KS1 size. Occasionally children have accidents, or fall over in a puddle (!), which means a change of clothes is needed. Our spare stock has fallen over the past couple of years, so if anyone has anything they don’t require any more, then we will happily take them off your hands. Thank you.
Covid-19 Reporting
Dudley LA have asked schools to remind parents of the following advice:
As it could be 48 hours before someone develops Covid-19 symptoms, they may be contagious and passing the virus to others. Consequently, if a positive case is reported to school between Friday and Sunday evening, we may need to inform class bubbles as they may need to self-isolate. Please keep an eye on your ParentMail in case this happens.
Should anyone test positive during the holiday, can you please inform school using the hscontact email as soon as possible. This email will be checked daily over the break.
Thank you
Contact Email
Please use the hscontact email if you need to contact school. The info email gets bombarded with all sorts and occasionally an email from yourselves can be missed. The hscontact email is only used for communication with parents and is not advertised on the website, etc.
If Your Children Get Bored…
there are lots of ideas and opportunities here, and there are plenty of activities and lessons (!) in the class area of each class on the website.
Harvest Donations
Thank you yo everyone who has donated something to our FoodBank collection this week. The local FoodBank came and collected everything this morning and will send us a total weight collected as soon as possible. Thank you once again.
