Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope you all had a great half-term break. As you are no doubt aware, recommendations regarding Covid restrictions changed over half term. In conjunction with advice, NHS and Public Health, we have updated our procedures. We would really appreciate your support with the following:
- If a child, or a member of staff, show any Covid symptoms then they must go for a PCR test.
- If the test is positive then you must isolate for 10 days, unless a lateral flow test on days 5 or 6 are both negative. If this is the case, then a return to school is permitted.
- Children should not attend school while they are infectious.
- Children or staff who live with someone who has Covid-19 should continue to attend school, providing they have no symptoms themselves.
This document: COVID-19: people with COVID-19 and their contacts – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) contains the advice above and the following statement:
‘Children and young people with COVID-19 should not attend their education setting while they are infectious. They should take an LFD test from 5 days after their symptoms started (or the day their test was taken if they did not have symptoms) followed by another one the next day. If both these tests results are negative, they should return to their educational setting if they normally attend one, as long as they feel well enough to do so and do not have a temperature. They should follow the guidance for their educational setting.’
We will be following the advice in the paragraph above and children and adults who test positive for Covid 19 should not attend school.
Thank you
