It’s been a great local history Black Country week in school with lots of different activities going on. We had lots of children and staff dressing up on Monday which was great to see. Children had the opportunity to learn some Black Country phrases, which hopefully they have shared with you at home!

I hope you have a good half-term break, whatever you may be doing, and we’ll see you all back in school soon.

Free school meal entitlement

Your child may be entitled to free school meals. Please check the poster at this link for more details.

thrive

This week’s Pedmore Thrive focuses on looking after yourself and can be found here.

Mr Hingley Retires

Mr Hingley, who has been our site manager for the past 11 years, has finished his last day at Pedmore today, before he heads off to retirement. We would like to give him a big ‘thank you’ for everything he has done at Pedmore in that time and wish him all the best for his well-earned rest! We all said goodbye to him yesterday and he had a lovely messsage which he shared with us all.

maths videos home learning

A number of parents have asked if there are any resources they could use to work on aspects of maths with their child. The easiest way to do that is to use the White Rose explanation videos that we used during lockdown. The web address to access the resources is here:

Home Learning | White Rose Maths

Choose your child’s year group and then under each different area there is a range of different videos to work from. Hope that helps.

perry the mascot

Last week we had a visit from this year’s Commonwealth Games Mascot, Perry. He spent some time with some children and talked about what the Commonwealth Games are about, which countries are involved, etc. It was a great visit!

Behaviour

We are having a bigger focus on our rules after half term. We have three main rules in school, Ready, Respect, Safe. We expect children to follow these rules at all times and have consequences should that not happen. We will be introducing a new reporting system for parents after half term where if you child doesn’t follow our rules, you will be notified. We will send more information out about this after half term.
