A Great First Week!
"Love one another, as I have loved you." John 13:34

First week completed! A great first week back in school has seen lots of happy faces and chatter and laughter. It’s been wonderful to have all our children back in school, although I’m sure it’s been much quieter in your households! There are lots of things to report on in this post, especially some photos of our Science Day yesterday where the children all had a great time being involved with lots of investigations and experiments.

Start and End of the Day

Thank you for those people who have helped us by following the guidelines in the ParentMail we sent out yesterday. A copy of the letter is below:

PLEASE don’t come early to school; I know there isn’t much time between classes and I appreciate it’s more difficult depending on traffic, weather, etc., but we are having issues when people turn up earlier to drop their children off and end up mixing in other lines. It also causes extra people to be around school at any one time and this is something we are trying to minimise as much as possible. Can we also remind you not to congregate in groups for conversations either before or after drop-off/collection. I know it’s been a while since you’ve seen each other but, again, we’re trying to minimise the number of people all together around the school site.

Please also make sure that your child is not running around the car park whilst you are waiting to enter school. Thank you.

National Online Safety App

The National Online Safety website has a new app, available for free, which enables you to look at all of their guides and documentation about all aspects of online safety: apps, games, chatrooms, websites, etc. We would highly recommend you downloading and checking it out. Link is here.

Red Nose Day Letter

Details were sent out yesterday about our plans for Red Nose Day this year. Here is a copy of the letter in case you missed it:

Dear Parent/ Guardians

On Friday 19th March we are planning to take part in   RED NOSE DAY 2021- FUNNY IS POWER.  To enjoy and to raise money for this fundraising event we are calling all superheroes. From the more traditional Wonder Woman and Superman to our modern-day NHS heroes or even heroes we can create for ourselves such as Air-Guitar-Girl and Bake-Brilliant-Cakes-Boy, we are asking children to choose or create a superhero and pay a small fee to dress up for the day.   Do not worry or panic if dressing up is not for you, the alternative is to come to school dressed in anything RED for the day with the main idea being a day to enjoy, to raise money and to know that you are part of something bigger. You yourselves are helping to make the world a better place. You are our heroes!  Donation buckets will be available at the entrances of the school during arrival and collection times on Friday 19th March.  We do hope that you will join us in taking part in this fundraising event.

Kind regards  Mrs Dowen

Pedmore Digital Library

Thank you for the positive comments about our new digital library. If you haven’t had chance to use it yet, go and have a look here. There are over 200 books to choose from and all of them are read out loud so you can listen whilst in the car, in the kitchen, or whilst lying in bed!
