Half term is here – it’s been a long one for many children; lots of ‘flagging’ this week! I hope you have a good half term break, and have plenty of time to recharge. I’ve spoken to all the children today about keeping safe at Halloween – there’s more information, if you want to talk to your child about it at home, below.

Forest School
Year 5 started their forest school session this week and their excitement to be back was wonderful to see. How these children love to play and they were straight to the mud kitchen and mud pit. It is great to see whatever their age, children still love to get muddy and play!
We still have an abundance of conkers and some got to work making conker soap, it really does work!
Enjoying hot chocolate and biscuits around the fire pit, I told the story of Jack and his leaves. Through story I aim to help children build knowledge and connection to nature as well as spark imaginations which often is seen in the children’s play and performances on the stage.
The children also listened to music of the plants, my new speaker which they love. The probe is sunk into the soil and attaches to a leaf and picks up the electromagnetic signals and translates it into musical harmonies. It really is fascinating and the children think it is really cool.
It really was a lovely session and I can’t wait for the rest of our time in the woods.
Santa Trail
If over half term you are starting to think about Christmas, do take a look at my Christmas events which are great fun for all the family. You book at time slot to arrive and follow a trail to find Santa. On the way there are festive crafts, making reindeer food and visit the nativity scene in the stable, before toasting marshmallows to make smores on the fire. There is hot chocolate, apple punch and mince pies for everyone. Children will visit Santa in his cosy tent with a roaring wood burner to keep everyone warm. The children receive a lovely present and have time to chat to Santa and have photos. It is a really chilled event with no queues and affordable for all the family to come along.
I have sessions specific for children with SEND on 6th December and sessions open to all families on 13th and 20th December
