Our current value is Perseverance
As we move towards half term I would like to congratulate all the children and staff for a great half term – even though it’s been an extremely challenging one in lots of ways. Even though we have had a lot of staff absence this half term (thanks Covid!), the education for your children has been relatively unaffected and we are all really pleased with the learning and experiences that have happened this half term in school. The number of positive cases has reduced significantly over the past couple of weeks, which is good news for us all. I hope you all have a great weekend – see you next week!
Black Country Week
Next week is our Black Country week, where each class in school focuses on a historical aspect of the Black Country during the week. This is what each year group focuses on:
Reception – a bit of everything!
Year 1 – Black Country art/design/architecture
Year 2 – Famous People
Year 3 – Transport
Year 4 – Pedmore History
Year 5 – Everyday Living
Year 6 – Industry/Glass
Thrive
This week’s Pedmore Thrive focuses on giving kindness. You can read it here.

More details for both of those closer to the time, but please save the dates!
We look forward to seeing you really soon,

clarks letter
Please see the letter from Clarks about booking fitting slots for your child. See the letter here.
Lates/attendance
We are noticing more children being late for school in a morning. Whilst we appreciate that there are occasions where this happens, please ensure that your child is at school before the gate closes at 8:50am. Children will be recorded late after this time and we have a duty to follow up and report any persistent absences/lates. Thank you.
Parents’ Evenings
A reminder that parents’ evenings are the first week back after half term. Booking slots will be available from Wednesday 16th February at 9:30pm. There will a choice of a virtual appointment or a face-to-face appointment; please only book one or the other. Face-to-face appointments will take place in the school hall and everyone will be required to wear a face covering. Please note there will be no parents’ evening on these dates for Year 4 as we are not sure when Mr Jhim will return. We will advise of a separate date as soon as we are able.
Good bye Mrs Jeavons
Today is Mrs Jeavons’ last day at Pedmore. She has been a wonderful help and support to us all over the past 8 years and we wish her all the very best in her new role.
Take Care & Stay Safe
Mr Dunn
