The nights are drawing in…and we are being promised a drop in temperatures…can only mean one thing…Summer is a long way off! ? We are getting closer and closer to Christmas, which means we have lots of things going on in school over the next few weeks. Below you’ll find some information of what will be coming up over the next few weeks.
Pedmore Thrive
Here is issue number 8 of Pedmore Thrive.
Christmas Fayre
As mentioned last week, we are having a slimmed-down Christmas Fayre this year, all outside. This is happening on 26th November, 2.30pm – 4.30pm, on the school playground. Please come along and support the PTA and school. Keep an eye out as we will be sending out more details in the coming days.
Christmas CD
We are recording a Christmas CD! Every class in school will be recording a Christmas song which we will record and have specially produced as a cd. Ask your child what they are singing if you want to know a little more. You will then be able to purchase one (or more) of these (at a very reasonable cost!). They will make excellent presents for yourselves and every other family member! Please click here to let us know how many you may require. There is no commitment at this stage.
Parking
Another reminder to be considerate of others when parking at either drop-off or collection. We have received a number of complaints of inconsiderate parking, i.e. across driveways blocking access. Please think before leaving your car. Thank you.
Amazon Smile
Please remember to use Amazon Smile if you are ordering anything from Amazon online. We get money if you do and it costs you nothing! Details in last week’s newsletter here.

Child-Safe Web Searching

Child friendly search engines help us to ensure that children are using the internet in a safe way. Kiddle.co is a visual search engine for children powered by Google which offers a safe web, image and video search. You can access it here www.kiddle.co.
We need to be aware that those who wish children harm will find their way round the safeguards included in these search engines, so while these search engines may make searching safer for children they are not a replacement for online safety filters. UK Safer Internet Centre provides excellent independent advice on setting up internet filters at home. https://www.saferinternet.org.uk
School Council Appeal
School Council would like our school to take part in the Salvation Army Christmas present appeal. This would involve sending in a new gift for a child / young person. Gifts don’t need to be wrapped and would need to be in school by Wednesday December 1st. For more information on what to send, please see the information here.
Christmas Tree Festival
St Peter’s have organised a Christmas Tree Festival open on 3rd and 4th December. See here for more information.
That’s it for this week!
