Anti-Bullying Week

Next week is anti-bullying week in school. Classes will be focusing on lots of work during the week around the theme of ‘One Kind Word’. To kick us off on Monday, if children want to come in odd socks, to celebrate everyone being unique, that would be great! No money or donations or anything is required, just odd socks!

Our Dreams

Last week, some of our Year 6 children had work displayed at St Thomas’ Church in Stourbridge. The display was all based around children’s wishes and dreams from the outcomes of Cop 26. Here are the pictures from the display once it was set up:

Christmas Fayre

As we are unable to have a Christmas Fayre as we usually would, using some of the indoor space, we have decided to have a mini version of the fayre this year, all outside. This will happen on Friday 26th November between 2.30pm and 4.30pm. There will be a small number of stalls and an opportunity to see Santa (unfortunately mums and dads, only for children). ??

We will confirm how the afternoon will work, but it’s likely to be if you want to collect your child at 2.30 you can, visit the fayre, then go home. Or collect your child at 3.30, visit the fayre, then go home. We will only be able to manage collection at those two times, not anytime between 2.30 and 3.30. We will confirm all arrangements as soon as possible.

Next Friday, 19th, we will be collecting donations for the bottle stall. Children can come in their own clothes and bring a bottle donation for the stall.

The following Friday, 26th, the day of the fayre, we will be collecting mugs for the mug tombola; again the children can come in their own clothes that day. For those of you who haven’t been in school before when we’ve had a fayre, it is a tradition at Pedmore that every time we have a fayre, summer and Christmas, each child brings a mug full of something that matches the season to go on the mug tombola stall, which always has guaranteed wins each time! So, for example, a Christmas mug could be full of festive treats. Most people then choose to wrap their mug in cellophane to keep it all together. PTA will be providing cellophane which we will give out to your children to bring home, should you wish to use it. There are a couple of pictures of mugs from previous years to give you an idea of what they look like:

Reception Catch-Up Sessions

If you have a child in Reception, you will be receiving details of how you can book a catch-up session with Mrs Lane. Normally, we would do these as a stay-and-play session, but obviously that is not possible at the moment so we will be holding these meetings virtually. The sessions will take place on the morning of 23rd November, and the afternoon of 24th November. You will be able to book a slot from 17th November – details will be sent separately.

Children in Need

Children in Need this year is next Friday, 19th November. I realise that this is on the day that we have asked you to kindly donate bottles for the Christmas Fayre. We will still have buckets on the gate at the beginning and end of the day should anyone wish to make a donation to Children in Need. Thank you.
