Well, what a year it’s been! To say it’s been a rollercoaster is probably a bit of an understatement… I won’t go through all the trials and tribulations we’ve all faced, as I’m sure you’re all fully aware of what they are(!), but suffice to say it has been difficult. But, through it all, everyone has been incredibly supportive and understanding of the situation we have faced in school – and for that we thank you whole-heartedly. Throughout lockdowns and bubble closures you have supported staff in school with what we have tried to achieve, and your children have benefitted hugely as a result. Thank you for supporting home-schooling (even though I know many of you found it challenging); your support and help made things easier for us in school and easier when the children returned to school.
We’ve all been through a lot together and, although we don’t know what next term holds, whatever gets thrown at us in the future I know we’ll all pull together and deal with it.
I hope you all have a wonderful summer, whatever you may be doing. Enjoy being with your families and remember to laugh lots and lots. We’ll see you all again very soon.
Goodbyes
It’s that time of year where we say ‘goodbye’…firstly, to our amazing Year 6 children. It’s been wonderful seeing you grow and develop in your time at Pedmore and, although your last two years haven’t been easy, you have shown what fantastic, caring, supportive young people you have become. We are all so very proud of you and wish you all the success in the world in the future.
We are also saying goodbye to Miss Bill. Miss Bill has been with us for seven years and, in September, is starting her training to become a primary school teacher. We will all miss her very much and wish her all the very best for the future.
Autumn Term
You will have all received details through ParentMail about our start and end times for September. You can see a reminder here. Obviously, we don’t know what September will look like yet, but we will send a reminder out of everything on September 2nd or 3rd. School starts for children on Monday 6th September.
Pedmore Thrive
Mrs Robbins has been doing our Thrive newsletter for many months now. I hope you find it useful. The latest issue (#22) is here.

We have been asked to share this letter with our school community.
Report Feedback
If you haven’t already, please complete the form here with comments about your child’s report. It should only take a couple of minutes. Thank you.
Contact Tracing
Thank you for all that you do in helping us keep everyone as safe as possible. As you know, schools hold key information to support contact tracing and this will still need to happen for any new positive cases that have been in our school setting within 2 full days of developing symptoms, or testing positive if asymptomatic.
If your child shows symptoms, please book a PCR test as soon as possible. If that is this week, up to and including Friday, please let us know through the HSContact email.
Class Photographs
We’ve had a huge amount going on, especially with all of the extra videos we’ve put together for Year 6, and because of this the class photographs aren’t finished yet. In previous years we would have asked for a donation for the photos for our school fund. However, because of the year we’ve had, we are not asking for anything this time. We’ll send a link out in the next couple of days where you will be able to download your child’s class photo, should you wish. Thank you for your understanding.
School Uniform
We are having a focus on school uniform from September. Please make sure you are aware of the expectations, especially around P.E. kit. You can check out all the details here. Thank you.
PTA 100 Club Draw
You can see the final 100 club draw of this year, here. Thank you for all of your support with this – it will be starting up again in September.
And Last, But Not Least…
A huge ?THANK YOU? for all the gifts that you have sent into school. We are all always incredibly humbled at your generosity and, whilst we never expect anything, we are all incredibly grateful. So thank you. ?
That’s all for now; see you in September ?
Take Care & Stay Safe
