Sunday Update…
"Love one another, as I have loved you." John 13:34

Here we are again! I hope that you’ve had a good few days; thank you for the pictures and messages you continue to send into school – they are great! Please keep them coming.

I will be updating everyone in the next few days with our plan for returning in June. Whilst the guidance from the Government has been coming thick and fast (16 documents and updates between Monday and Friday of last week), there are still many questions that remain unanswered. The Local Authority are in daily communication with schools and the DfE trying to resolve many of the issues arising. One thing I can say for an absolute definite, immaterial what guidance we are (or aren’t) given, is that whatever final decisions are made by us will be made with our school community’s safety paramount. We will not make any decisions, or be pressured into any decisions, if we do not feel they are right for our school. At the moment, we are planning for children to return in Year 6, Year 1 and Reception. However, that may not be every year group, every day, if we feel we cannot keep to what we consider to be safe for our children and our staff. We will let you know as soon as possible when we have a finalised plan.

Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental Health Awareness Week is 18th-24th May and is a time for us all to have a greater focus on our mental health. This year, the focus in on ‘kindness’. Please have a look at the website below for some lovely challenge ideas to share with children:

A More Positive Message (!) From The DfE

Preparations for national thank a teacher day – Wednesday 20 May

On Wednesday 20 May, we are celebrating teachers, senior leaders, support staff and all those working in education settings who are making a difference to their schools and communities during the coronavirus outbreak.

The Department for Education is working in partnership with the Teaching Awards Trust which has produced a set of resources including a Thank a Teacher toolkit containing graphics, images and frames for social media that you’re free to use.

The Thank a Teacher Toolkit is available here:

https://thankateacher.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Thank-a-Teacher-Day-2020-Tool-Kit.pdf

I haven’t mentioned this to staff at school, and I certainly wouldn’t be pushing that you do anything, but I know everyone at school is missing all of you, so if you wanted to send a message in to anyone specific then please do so! Every single one of us would LOVE to hear from you.

* to make mistakes

* to have bad days

* to be less than perfect

* to do what’s best for you

* to be yourself.
