Early Closing Friday 24th May 2024

As sent out by ParentMail:

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are having to have some work done in school on Friday 24th May, the day we break up for half term. Over the half term break we are having carpets replaced in certain areas of school. Underneath some of the carpet they are taking up are some old tiles, which have been laid many years. The glue used to stick these tiles down contains small quantities of asbestos, which obviously needs to be disposed of properly. It is the lowest grade of asbestos and is in no way dangerous to anyone currently. In order to remove the tiles, and allow for all the work to be completed over half term, the work needs to begin on the Friday afternoon.

To make sure we are making things as easy as possible for everyone, and after discussion with the Trust and governors, we are closing school at 12:00pm on Friday 24th MayPlease collect your child from the playground at 12:00pm. They will not have lunch at school.

I appreciate this is relatively short notice. If you, or a relative, is unable to collect your child at 12:00, then there will be provision in school for your child to stay and be collected at the normal time of 3:30pm. We won’t be able to do collections at any time between 12:00 and 3:30 – it will need to be one of those two times.

If your child is in receipt of benefits-based free school meals, and you would like them to come home with a sandwich/grab bag on that Friday, please let us know.

Pre-school will also close at 12:00pm. There will be no after-school provision on that Friday either.

Thank you for your understanding.

Take Care & Stay Safe
