Bake Sale at Parents’ Evening
“I just wanted to send a email to thank everybody for their support with Hareena and Arjan’s bake sale! It was a wonderful afternoon for the children and they are feeling very proud of the amount of money they raised!! The bake sale itself raised a whopping £162.38!
Combined with the online donations from friends and family, and the additional gift aid contributions, we raised £ 1,007.98 for wwf.org. Your kindness and generosity is helping to tackling climate change and protecting endangered wildlife all over the world so thank you again.”
Kind regards

Chicks…Chicks…Chicks…
The KS1 area has been buzzing this week with the arrival of our new visitors! We started with 10 eggs and now we have 10 little chicks! We were super lucky to see 3 eggs hatch right in front of our eyes! We have 6 boys and 4 girls. After they hatch in the incubator, they need to stay there for 24 hours before we can transfer them into the brooder box. Next week when the chicks are bigger and stronger, we will be able to hold them! A massive thank you to PTA who have paid for this experience for our children! As quoted from a reception child, ‘This is the best week ever!!’
Heavy Rain and Drainage
As you are aware, there have been a number of times recently where the path to school has been flooded. This, alongside the muddy bridle path, makes coming to school difficult. We have contacted Dudley who are sending someone out next week to look at the situation and see what can be advised. There has also been contact made with the local MP and councillors to see what can be done about the bridle path. We will look at alternatives, maybe using the Hagley Road entrance into school, if the situation is bad any given morning. Thank you for your understanding.
Vac Award
Every half term, Mr Robbins, our site manager, gives out two awards for classes that have the tidiest classroom! The two awards are Jeff and Bert (names chosen by the children). They are small hoovers! The winners this time around are Year 2 & Year 6.
RED NOSE DAY 2024 – 15th March – DO SOMETHING FUNNY FOR MONEY
To enjoy and to raise money for this fundraising event we are inviting the children to come to school dressed in something RED or if you feel like it you could dress ‘RED to toe’. If you have a red nose, it would be good to see those too.
In addition, we are asking children to bring in their best and funniest jokes, written down if possible, and throughout the day we will aim to share as may jokes as we possibly can.
The main idea of the day being a day to enjoy, to raise money and to know that you are part of something bigger. You yourselves are helping to make the world a better place.
This year the children will not be required to bring any money to school, instead we have set up a Just Giving page through the Comic Relief website. We have set a target of £250.00. If you can help us to achieve our target that would be wonderful.
Please find the link for the Just Giving Page below.

We do hope that you will join us in taking part in this fundraising event.
Kind regards
Mrs Dowen

Easter Egg-stravaganza – Message from PTA
Dear All,
We are excited to be holding our Easter Egg-stravaganza on Saturday 16th March, 10am-12pm. There will be games, stalls and refreshments to enjoy. We will be holding an Easter Hat Parade and the egg hunt will begin on the field at 11:30am.
Tickets will need to be purchased ahead of the event and will be on sale from Monday 11th March on the playground after school and in after school club. Further information will be made available via ParentMail in the coming days.
Volunteering with us:
As you will know 2024 is a leap year, on the 29th we gain a whole extra day of time. Why not use on of your extra 24 hours to help the PTA this year? Whether this be volunteering at the Easter or Summer Fayres or other events, helping in a playground tidy-up, offering the support of your business through sponsorship or donations of prizes and resources or attending a meeting and having your voice heard. We would love for you to come along and get to know what goes on to raise vital funds for our school. We always welcome new faces and new ideas, its great to know you have made a difference and believe it or not we have a lot of fun along the way!
Volunteer requests for the Easter Egg-stravaganza have been sent out via year group WhatsApp groups, however we realise not everyone is part of these groups. Thank you to everyone who has already put their names forward. We are still in need of volunteers across the event. If you feel you could offer 45 minutes of your time on the morning of Saturday 16th March please leave your name with the school office or email the PTA at pedmorepta@hotmail.com.
Forest School
It’s been a wet old time in forest school and i’m trying hard to protect it from becoming a quagmire! If anyone is a tree surgeon that has some chippings to donate, please do get in touch!
Year 5 have started their sessions and certainly know how to play, it is always top of their agenda in forest school. They have only had a couple of sessions, but we have already had several shows, made a huge ball run, changed the mud pit by adding more channels and buried pipes.
Plus this week, some lit and maintained their own fires, toasted bread for their classmates and extinguished them safely.
