Flaming June…apparently…feels more like October! Can’t believe how cold it is for this time of year. How many of you have your heating on at home?! A few things to share with you this week. Have a look below…
Our School Vision
As you know, we reviewed and updated our school vision earlier this year. This is what we believe in as a school, and what we believe is the right thing to do and the right way to approach decisions we make. You can chat to your child about our vision and see what they say about it! This is our vision below:
Parental Survey
Thank you to those of you that have completed our end of year parental survey. If you haven’t completed it yet, you can do so at the link here.

Charity Bracelet Sale
Lottie, Alice, Katie (Yr 5) and James (Yr 2) are holding a bracelet sale next Thursday and Friday in aid of Cancer Research. They have made all of the items themselves and have organised the whole event too. Have a look at their flyer below and please support them if you can.
Book Fair
We had a great book fair this week, with lots of books on offer and lots of songs and stories. Thank you for supporting us in this event.
Lost Property
We have collected a large amount of un-named lost property. We will be putting this out next week after school for you to come and look at and collect, if it is yours. After this, any uncollected uniform will be given to PTA for their pre-loved uniform stall.

Hedgehog Update
Following on from last week’s newsletter and the discovery of Spike, I thought I had better update you on this week’s events.
I am sure many children have already told you, but sadly Spike died last Sunday evening. It was thought he had probably eaten something he shouldn’t have done and the infection took over. But the rescue centre asked if we could rehome an adult female hog that they had been caring for.
So on Tuesday Year 4 all came to forest school together and planned and led a beautiful funeral for Spike. We had readings, songs and prayers. Children made memorials for him and laid flowers and he is now buried at the bottom of the school field. The video below shows what a beautiful occasion it was.
We also welcomed the new hedgehog ( name to be decided), my husband had made her a new home which we put in the bug area and we released her into the area. We hope that she will stay and be very happy!
It has been wonderful to see how children have embraced this and has inspired so much other learning. Lots of children have shared with me research they have done about hedgehogs, learning more about how we can protect them and also given me pictures that they have drawn. I also believe that it has helped them understand the circle of life and that all life is to be celebrated. They truly have shown so much love, care and compassion.
Maybe one day we might get some hedgehog babies!
