We take safeguarding and security seriously. The school site is secure with digital and remotely operated locks. All visitors and staff are checked for ID and, where appropriate, an enhanced DBS is required.
Children learn about how to keep themselves safe. A full programme of safety education is integrated into topics throughout the school. Children learn to assess risk through all curriculum areas, especially when learning outside the classroom.
Pedmore has a well-supported anti-bullying policy, which is re-visited in November every year during anti-bullying week. Children learn that bullying is unkind behaviour which takes place:
and that it is everyone’s responsibility to report. Bullying is rare at Pedmore, but when it happens we work promptly, and for as long as it is needed, with all children and parents concerned to reach a solution.
